Trainee Integrative Counsellor (Student BACP Member)
Sangeeta is currently training and studying towards a Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Derby. After completion of a BSc in Psychology in 2012, Sangeeta has worked in mental health settings for 8 years, doing a variety of roles, including support work and therapy roles, as well voluntary experience abroad. In addition to this, she is currently facilitating wellbeing workshops to the community.
Sangeeta began further study to fulfil ambitions of becoming a qualified Counsellor. She uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Attachment Theory and Person-Centred Therapy in an integrative way, along with an empathic and non-judgemental approach, to support clients with their presenting difficulties. Sangeeta has had previous volunteer counselling experience with both adults & young people in which she supported others dealing with many difficult issues.

- Friendships and Bullying

- Obsessive compulsive disorder
She is passionate about supporting individuals through their personal experiences with a friendly and open approach, with authenticity being at the heart of her practice in order to build strong therapeutic relationships whilst furthering her knowledge and therapeutic skills working towards her PG Diploma.
Sangeeta holds a DBS and is a student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She follows their ethical framework and guidelines by means of engaging in professional development courses and fortnightly supervision to further her development as a Therapist. Sangeeta practices from the Sunrise Wellbeing Therapy Centre where she provides 1:1 face to face or video call therapy sessions for Young People (16+) and Adults.
