Letitia Thomas

Trainee Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist

Letitia is a Trainee Integrative Psychotherapist carrying out her placement at Sunrise Wellbeing whilst studying at the University of Derby.

Before choosing to retrain as a therapist, Letitia worked in a school supporting students with emotional and behavioural needs, together with teaching students in both mainstream and SEND departments. She has experience of working 1-1 with students and supporting transitions and is very passionate about connecting with and teaching young people.

During her time at university, she gained experience working with listening services, including Nightline. Here Letitia helped to support students emotionally who were struggling at university and provided a space for people to contact when they needed someone to talk to.

Letitia has previously studied Help Seeking and Mental Health in Men, Diversity and Racism and is now training to use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person Centred Therapy (Humanistic), and Attachment Theory (Psychodynamic) within her counselling and therapeutic work.

Letitia has achieved a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and is currently studying an MSc in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy.

Letitia undertakes regular supervision and professional development in line with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy ethical framework, holds a current DBS and is a Student Member of the BACP.

Letitia practices from the Sunrise Wellbeing Therapy Centre where she provides 1:1 counselling and psychotherapy to young people 16+ and adults.
