Trainee Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist (BACP Member)
Gemma is a Trainee Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist and is studying the MSc at the University of Derby, specialising in Attachment Theory, Person-Centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapeutic approaches.
Gemma is qualified to Level 3 CPCAB (Counselling Studies), is a Transactional Analysis Practitioner (Education), an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) and also a Youth Mental Health Champion (Place2Be). Gemma has worked within Education for over 15 years in roles supporting young people and adults, including working in Student Support in school, college and university settings.
Gemma is experienced in, and dedicated to, supporting individuals through a warm, non-judgemental and nurturing approach, integrating Person-Centred Therapy, Attachment Theory and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy as relevant for each individual.
Gemma has achieved:
- BSc (Hons) 2:1 in Applied Social Sciences (Psychology and Sociology) at Coventry University
- The Berne Diploma in Transactional Analysis (Education)
- Accredited ELSA Emotional Literacy Support Assistant Training
- Level 3 CPCAB Certificate in Counselling Studies
Gemma actively engages in, and is supported by, regular supervision and professional development in line with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy ethical framework, holds a current DBS and is an Individual Member of the BACP. Gemma practices as a trainee from the Sunrise Wellbeing Therapy Centre where she provides 1:1 counselling and psychotherapy to adults and young people (16 years and over).
