Children, Young People and Adult Psychotherapeutic Counsellor & Supervisor

Corinne is an experienced and qualified  Person Centred Psychotherapeutic Counsellor working with Children, young people and adults for the last

Corinne has experience working with Autism, ADHD and genetic conditions and disorders.

Corinne’s approach is warm, relaxed and open so you feel safe enough to share the feelings and concerns that you want to explore.

Person centred counselling allows you time and space to lead the counselling process and talk through the concerns that matter at your pace.

It can be difficult to approach a counsellor and make that contact and talk about intimate or conflicting feelings. Offering face to face counselling sessions, but welcome communication by phone or email prior to the first session.

Corinne works with individuals of all ages and diversity and counselled at various education settings, organisations in Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.

Corinne regularly works with:

  • Anxiety & Depression
  • Grief & Bereavement
  • Career or lifestyle change
  • Pregnancy difficulties and traumatic birth
  • Traumatic experiences
  • Cross-cultural issues
  • Feeling your life or relationship is at a crossroads
  • Feeling you would like to talk with someone

After attending specialist training on trauma and attachment with Family Futures, the Child Mental Health Institute and the Metanoia Institute for adolescent and school counselling I have a specialise  in working with children and young people. I have also completed accredited training with the Infant Loss Foundation and work with bereavement related issues.

Working with children and young people in schools and other educational settings has meant that Corinne has had to develop her counselling to include using play/creative therapy or CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) exercises and techniques to engage younger people to talk about their feelings or worries. Using play or creative activities helps to lessen the anxiety or pressure to talk directly about a challenging issue and this approach can help to rethink responses. Sometimes this approach can also help many adults too.
