Person-Centred Adult Counsellor

 

Sarah is a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor, specializing in trauma, specifically domestic and sexual abuse. Sarah hold over ten years of varied expertise in support work, having  started out as a Victim Support Caseworker and Independent Sexual Violence Advisor, emotionally and practically supporting sexual violence survivors both inside and outside of the criminal justice system. After qualifying and working as a counsellor in specialist domestic and sexual abuse charities, she made the move into community work, assisting in the set up and delivery of  the therapeutic element of an alternative wellbeing project for parents in North West Leicestershire.

Sarah is able to work in a warm, safe, professional and non-judgemental way supporting with issues and challenges such as: anger, depression, anxiety, OCD,  neurodiversity, bereavement and loss including miscarriage and baby loss, work related stress, identity, trauma, family, divorce and relationship struggles and self-harm and suicidal ideation.

  • Level 4 Diploma Therapeutic Counselling 
  • Independent Sexual Violence Advisor Qualification
  • Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling
  • Pre-Trial Therapy Certificate
  • Sexual Violence Recovery Toolkit Training
  • SANDS counselling for pregnancy and baby loss Certificate

Sarah undertakes regular supervision and professional development in line with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy ethical framework, holds a current DBS and is an Individual Member of the BACP (awaiting accreditation). Sarah practises from Therapy Station, Stoney Stanton and remotely via Teams and Phone, providing 1:1 counselling for adults.
