Therapeutic Play Practitioner (PTUK Member)
Lauren is a Therapeutic Play Practitioner, and a trainee Play Therapist, working privately and within schools through her business Feel Free Play Therapy. Lauren has great practical experience with children from her previous work as a teacher and with youth groups.
A background in developmental psychology from her degree and research at the Institute of Education also gives Lauren a theoretical understanding of the neuroscience behind the power of play. Lauren is passionate about equipping children with resilience, confidence and self-awareness to cope with the challenges they face.
Through sand play, artwork, role play, music, puppets and therapeutic stories to name a few, children play out their feelings and issues within a strong therapeutic relationship built on acceptance and a belief in their potential.
