Wellbeing Consultant

Kathy is a qualified person-centred counsellor with over 15 years clinical experience, specialising in bereavement support for individuals, couples and families. She has developed a particular focus on all aspects of emotional/mental/physical health and wellbeing for both client and professional and strives to model and promote this with them whilst validating and supporting their own unique experience. Kathy is a skilled trainer and effective communicator, having developed, designed and delivered a variety of training modules on Bereavement Support for professionals in Education/ Health care settings, Bereavement Policy making (for industry settings) and Self- care/Wellbeing modules for all. Her training expertise also includes MH & WB training to education/mental health services to support C&YP. This promotes a collaborative working approach and effective networking between the two with particular emphasis on consistent investment in staff wellbeing for the success of this.

She has experience in group facilitation – for client/professionals – including therapeutic groups, supportive/reflective practice provision as well as creative and holistic activities.

Kathy can offer a supportive and professional environment for all of the above to both clients and professionals. She is passionate and invested in wellbeing for all and the ethos of The Sunrise Centre in supporting this.

Kathy has achieved:

  • CPCAB Diploma in Person Centred Counselling 2008
  • CPCAB Certificate in Counselling Studies/Skills 2005-6
  • Fitness instructor’s qualification

Kathy can support with many aspects relating to mental health and wellbeing, including:

  • Support for therapists & practitioners (providing a reflective space and support including adapting from face to face to online therapeutic support or training delivery)
  • Training on a wide variety of topics including young people’s mental health, bereavement & attachment

Kathy undertakes regular supervision and professional development in line with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy ethical framework, holds a current DBS and is an Accredited Member of the BACP.  Kathy practices from the Sunrise Wellbeing Therapy Centre where she provides training, 1:1 consultations, advice & guidance and counselling to adults and families.
